Artist's Statement

An aspiring fine art photographer since 1982, I work primarily in black and white. This medium allows me to attend to the shapes, textures and expressions of my subjects, while composing images that evoke the exhilaration I feel when seeing through my lens. My eye is drawn to visually provocative moments in the street and the static beauty of the land, as well as cities and the buildings that inhabit them. As a photographic artist, I perceive the world through the filter of my past experience. How I compose and print each image is the result of my life prior to each decisive moment. Through the years, my perception and ability to render visually what I feel in my heart has become refined. I strive to share that vision with you.
